August was a busy month for Team McCoy. In addition to several sponsorships and donation opportunities in support of the communities we serve, there were several chamber of commerce events that allowed us to connect with the local business community.
Let's Kick Asthma Foundation, Benefit Gala
McCoy sponsored the Let's Kick Asthma Foundation Benefit Gala on August 7 to bring asthma patients and their loved ones together while raising funds and awareness for the nonprofit's initiatives. The Foundation is an important resource for asthma patients. It's a place where they can lean on the support of others who understand what they're going through while utilizing outreach services that assist with paying for medication, provide access to medical professionals who can address their questions and much more.
Lancaster Elementary School, Back to School Donation
Each year, McCoy donates supplies to students at Lancaster Elementary School to set them up for a successful school year. On August 10, the staff at Lancaster was excited to see the unpacked boxes holding 160 composition books, 960 pencils, 120 packs of crayons, 312 folders, over 1,600 zip lock bags, 432 dry erase markers, 480 batteries, 720 colored pencils and 2 full cases of paper.
West Orange Chamber of Commerce, Hamlin Branch Ribbon Cutting
On August 16, McCoy celebrated the opening of the Hamlin location with a ribbon cutting presented by the West Orange Chamber of Commerce. President/CEO Alvin Cowans and several McCoy board members cut the ribbon as team members from the Hamlin branch and multiple departments cheered.
Oviedo-Winter Springs COC, Digital Marketing Workshop
Representatives of McCoy's Business Development and Marketing team participated in the monthly Oviedo-Winter Springs Chamber of Commerce Digital Marketing Workshop on August 24. This virtual event featured tips for using social media marketing strategies to improve engagement on Facebook.
Southeastern Food Bank, Food For Families Food Drive
McCoy's Ocoee Branch is holding its yearly lobby event for the Southeastern Food Bank (SEFB) Food For Families Food Drive through September 30. Items such as canned soups, canned veggies, canned tuna, peanut butter, rice, applesauce, baby food, bottled water and more will go a long way in ensuring our neighbors don't go to bed hungry.
East Orlando Chamber of Commerce, Business Expo
On August 26, McCoy's Marketing Manager attended the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce Business Expo at DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport. Over 90 exhibitors presented their products and services to hundreds of attendees.
Run Nona 5K & Nemours Kids' Run
The Run Nona 5K & Nemours Kids' Run on August 28 featured more than a race through Lake Nona — participants enjoyed DJ entertainment, kids activities and a variety of food from local vendors at the Lake Nona Town Center.
